Talia is still adjusting...

Since we have been a family of 4 now Talia has been going through some changes. She was fully potty trained and decided that since Teagan wears a diaper she wants to wear one as well. I tried to be patient with her but my crazy post-pardum emotions would take a hold of me and I would get angry.... BLAKES post-pardum emotions would take a hold of him too and HE would also get angry.

This caused a spiral effect. Since she saw how frustrated we were with the re-gress she started to give up on everything she had learned. She started throwing fits always saying no and always got sent to time out for not listening.

I prayed one night with Talia. My exact words "Please bless Mommy with patience so Talia will not drive her crazy." The next morning I was inspired. I knew I needed to overly celebrate when Talia was behaving WELL. I made some charts. 1 chart for potty training and one for listening.

She has not had one spanking or one time out since!!!!! (ok that is a lie but it makes the post sound better) she has improved I can say that

She puts a sticker on the chart everytime she uses the bathroom and when she listens to us the first time we ask her to do something. I LOVE CHARTS.

My angel is back! She is happy and we are happy. Being a Mom is so hard sometimes but when you solve the problem you feel ON TOP OF THE WORLD.

Here is to the TORTURING threes!!!!
We love you more than anything Talia.
Even when it feels you might drive us to drinking!

Lake Powel 2011

Am I crazy??? ...Yes I am. I took my 9 day old baby to Lake Powel.

Was it fun??? ...Yes it was. She was super easy and enjoyed the heat while she slept

Taylor and her Nauni.

Blake and Talia on the tube.
Talia is IN LOVE with the lake. She had so much fun. She didnt take out one toy to play with till the last day. That is how entertaining the trip was. The boat rides, the water, the beach, the tubing. SHE WAS ON CLOUD NINE!
So fun to see!!!

Here is the list of things Teagan did while she was there.... sleep...... and..... that is it.

Teagan 1 week old

Teagan is such a doll! She has been so easy.(fingers crossed to keep this up) She nurses like a champ and sleeps all night! well she also sleeps all day. She has really dark eyebrows and hair. She has my nose and mouth and Blakes eyes. We think they are blue? She does not show them off very often. Cant wait to see what she evolves into. We love her. I caught Blake tearing up while saying family prayers one night. It was pretty cute. He wanted a son but he just melts when he holds Teagan. I wined my whole pregnancy and I feel terrible about it. She was worth the discomfort a million times. xxoo

Talia loves her baby "brother" (she makes the rules) She runs in our room every morning to great Teagan with a big hug and kiss. I have had 2 heart attacks catching Talia pick her up lol but so far no accidents. Talia is the best "big sister" in the world! Life is perfect and we are so lucky for our two little ladies.

Teagans birth story...

After starting labor 4 times and then it stopping... I was convinced that she was NEVER COMING OUT. Sat morning I woke up with contractions and was convinced that today was the day. At noon (like always) the contractions stopped completely. I was so frustrated! I cried for an hour. I had to break the news to Blake that it was a false alarm. Around 6pm I noticed Blake was really quiet and I could tell he was bummed too that she was not here yet. I told him that we needed to get out of the house and enjoy the evening.

We decided to get some dinner. It was such a beautiful night so I suggested that we walk. We walked to Fratelli Pizza a few blocks from our house. I felt great. No contractions and no feeling that baby would be here VERY SOON.

We finished our pizza and were loading up to walk home. I put the pizza in a box and felt a "pop" I looked at Blake and told him "my water just broke" I had him go get some towels from the bus-boy to keep the water from getting everywhere. Since we had no car Blake said he was going to run home. I told him we didn't have time. I turned to the closest person and asked her to take Blake to our car. Then the WHOLE restaurant realized what was happening (SO EMBARRASSING) Blake and Tay left while I sat in my puddle acting as if nothing was going on.

Blake got back with the car. We went back home and loaded up our things and headed to the Calls to drop off Tay. On our drive I began to get contractions. BAD CONTRACTIONS. They were 7 minutes apart. I went from zero contractions to regular contractions just like that. We got to the hospital around 9 pm. I was laughing so hard because the water party in my pants would not end. As I walked into the hospital I left a trail all the way to the room. It is crazy how much water is in there! The nurse set the monitors up and started my meds ASAP. I have Strep-B and the meds need to get to the baby before you give birth. 4 hours to be exact. I told her I wanted an epidural and she should call him now. I was 4 cm and I thought I had plenty of time to grasp what was going on and get some drugs. Krista jumped in her car and drove from Tucson to watch the birth. I was so glad I was only a 4 so she would not miss it.

30 min later my contractions were only 3 min apart and I knew at that moment things were gonna go fast. The Epidural man showed up and I was DYING! The nurse said let me check you really quick I was an 8! I went from a 4 to an 8 in 45 min!. The anesthesiologist was terrible. He had to restick the needle in my spine 4 times. I was yelling from the contractions and him messing up. I almost just told him to forget it. Finally he finished and left the room. My contractions were one after the other and the nurse asked if I could feel the head. I said "yup."

She called the doctor and I knew that the epidural was not gonna kick in quick enough. I kept looking at Blake and telling him. "I refuse to push her out before it kicks in!" The doctor got there and I still could feel every bit of the contractions. I felt my legs go numb and I crossed my fingers that I would not feel her come out when I started to push. The doctor got ready and I began to push. I didn't feel it! HALLELUJAH. I could feel the contractions in my stomach but not her coming out. It was GREAT. I did about 10 good pushes and my sweet little girl presented herself sunnyside up. I cried and was so overjoyed by her.

Pore Krista. Blake had to call her and tell her she was too late. I felt so bad :(

So... recap: My water broke at 8pm. We got to the hospital at 9pm and Teagan was born at 11:13pm.. 3 hours of labor total. WOW SO QUICK.

We had to stay an extra day since the medicine was not in mine or Teagans system long enough but she was perfect in every way!!! My Mom and Blakes Mom were able to be there to see the birth. Warren and Krista showed up later. It was a magical night and I will never forget it.
